About the Keynote
Speaker
Dr. Sebastià Galmés received his M.S.
degree in Electrical Engineering from
the Polytechnical University of
Catalonia, Spain, and his Ph. D. in
Computer Science from the University of
Balearic Islands, Spain. He is currently
Associate Professor in the Department of
Mathematics and Computer Science at the
University of Balearic Islands.

Dr. Sebastià Galmés's research interests focus
on the areas of traffic modelling in discrete
systems, wireless communication protocols,
wireless sensor networks and, more recently,
molecular communications for nanonetworks. He has
published around 50 papers, including
highly-ranked conferences and journals, and he has
also participated in around 20 funded activities,
such as national and international projects,
public grants and private R + D contracts. He is
the co-editor of the book "Network Control
and Engineering for QoS, Security and Mobility",
III, Springer 2004. He is a member of IEEE ComSoc
and IFIP WG 6.3 on Performance of Communication
Networks, and Area Editor of the Simulation
Modelling Practice and Theory journal.
