Professor Nobuyoshi Yabuki, Osaka University, Japan

Title of the speech: Cooperative Design Teleconference Systems Sharing 3D BIM Models and Physical Object

Professor Yabuki
Nobuyoshi Yabuki is a full professor in the Division of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, Osaka University, Japan. His research area is civil engineering informatics, which is the applications of advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) including AI, IoT, Building Information Modeling (BIM), VR/AR/MR, Structure from Motion (SfM), laser scanning to civil and building engineering.

Professor Nobuyoshi Yabuki received his B.E. at the University of Tokyo, M.S. and Ph.D. at Stanford University, all in civil engineering. He worked for the Electric Power Development Co., Ltd., then became an Associate Professor at Muroran Institute of Technology, and has become a Professor at Osaka University. He has published over 300 journal and international conference papers and has received awards many times. He is Chair of the Committee on BIM/CIM Promotion, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan, Vice President of International Society for Computing in Civil and Building Engineering (ISCCBE), Founder/President of Asian Group for Civil Engineering Informatics (AGCEI), Vice Chairman of buildingSMART Japan (bSJ), etc. He is a Fellow Member of JSCE, a member of ASCE, IEEE, ACM, etc.

Professor is long term fellow of the CDVE conferences. He attended the first CDVE conference in 2004 and has been active since then. He hosted the CDVE2012 conference in Osaka successfully where all the participants enjoyed the conference greatly.
